Questions, Answered

The questions we are asked most often — answered plainly.

What is Austrian LENZING™ MicroModal?

A botanic fabric made from sustainably grown beechwood, produced by LENZING™ in Austria. It is finer than cotton and softer than silk, with a feather-light, second-skin feel — 50% more breathable than cotton, naturally moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating. Every Luminé piece is cut from it.

What does OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified mean?

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is a rigorous, independent chemical testing standard — not a marketing label. Every component of the textile is tested against an extensive catalogue of harmful substances, in many cases beyond what the law requires. At Luminé, both the fabric and the lace carry the certification. Your skin wears nightwear around 3,000 hours a year; we believe you should know exactly what is in it.

Is MicroModal better than silk?

They are different answers to different questions. Silk is beautiful but delicate: hand-wash, and demanding to keep. MicroModal drapes and shines like silk, breathes better, regulates temperature naturally — and goes in the washing machine. It is the fabric for beautiful pieces you actually live in.

Does the fabric affect sleep?

Your body needs its core temperature to drop during the night — and many synthetic fabrics work against this. Austrian MicroModal is naturally temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking, designed to work with your body's recovery, not against it.

What do brides wear while getting ready?

The getting-ready hours are among the most photographed of the whole wedding day. Brides choose our Pearl Ivory nightdresses and slips for exactly those photographs — delicate European lace, a drape that flatters in morning light — and keep wearing them long after the wedding. See The Bridal Morning.

How do I care for my Luminé pieces?

Machine washable on delicate at 40°C, ideally in a washing bag. The fabric keeps its sheen and shape wash after wash, and no ironing is required. Luxury that does not create work.

Where are Luminé pieces made?

The fabric is produced in Austria and every piece is hand-finished in European ateliers, in small runs of 50 pieces per style. When a style sells out, it is gone until the next run.

How do I find my size?

Each product page carries measurements and fit notes — our model is 173 cm and wears size S. If you are between sizes or choosing a gift, write to us at care@luminelife.com and we will answer personally.
